Petit Four Cookies

These buttery cookies are little bites of Heaven!

Ingredients:

  • 200g unsalted butter(at room temperature)

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 1/3 cup flour(and more for rolling)

  • 2 tsp dutch cocoa powder(if your making a chocolate base)

  • toppings for decorating(i used jam, chocolate, powdered sugar and sprinkles)

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl , cream the butter and sugar together using a hand or stand mixer.

  2. Add the vanilla and eggs and combine.

  3. Then add in the salt and flour and stir to combine.

  4. Cover the dough with some food wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

  5. Cut the dough in half and place the other piece in the fridge whilst working with this one.

  6. Roll the dough and cut into desired shapes using a stencil or a cookie cutter.(for filling the cookies with jam just create 2 identical cookies and cut out a circle in the center from one of them)

  7. (If you want to make a chocolate based dough just add some cocoa powder with the flour and decrease the mount of flour by 2 tbsps)

  8. Place the cut out shapes in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking(this will prevent the cookies from loosing there shape)

  9. Once cooled , bake for 12 minutes at 170. degrees celsius.

  10. When they are out of the oven allow them to cool fully before dipping in melted chocolate, filling with jam, or dusting with powdered sugar.
